When Lorelai agrees to talk to a therapist with Emily, Luke says that Emily manipulated her into this, and Lorelai realize that this will be tough. Both characters ignore the fact that Sookie has already quit and that as soon as she goes to work for Dan Barber, she has decided that she’s never coming back. It’s a mistake that Sookie doesn’t open up and it’s also a problem that Lorelai just lets this go without talking about it. Since Luke and Lorelai aren’t communicating properly, it’s hard to imagine that, if they picked a surrogate, that this situation would go well. Of all the revival plotlines, fans definitely find this one to be odd.
She met Richard at a Yale college party, when he was engaged to Pennilyn Lott. Emily was the « other woman » until Richard broke it off with his fiancée, after Emily « showed up to the party in that blue dress. » Richard proposed to Emily by a bench at Yale University and they married in 1965, when Emily was 23. Richard and Emily separate after Richard pushes Jason out in order to return to Floyd Stiles’s company and avoid a lawsuit. For a short time Emily stays at a hotel, but returns to the house with Richard moving into the Pool House.

Gilmore Girl fans had questions about what happened to Dean afterward and if he’d make an appearance in the revival. While fans love seeing Rory and Lorelai together, it’s hard not to think of this decision as a huge mistake. Rory is an adult now and she’ll have a much better time if she can find happiness in the town or city that she decides to live in instead of relying on her hometown comforts. Emily struggled in her relationship with Rory and never felt like she could relate to her, and it was sad to watch.

She has had maids from Guatemala, Britain, Ireland, Romania, USA, Portugal, France, Germany and numerous other countries and is constantly criticized for her treatment of them and the expectations she has of them.
Jackson successfully ran for town selectman, defeating Taylor Doose, though Jackson realized he did not want the job and resigned. Richard and Floyd made a deal behind Jason’s back that allowed Richard to create a boutique company under the umbrella of Gehrmann-Driscoll, and Richard bad-mouths him to clients and other companies, and Jason finds himself blacklisted. When Jason told Lorelai he was suing her father, she broke off their relationship. Though he tried to win her back, even showing up at the Dragonfly Inn on the night of its test run, Lorelai had already moved on to a relationship with Luke Danes. That night, to get Jason away from the Dragonfly Inn, Sookie and Michel call his cell pretending to be somebody else and tell him his condo is on fire so Jason leaves to go see his home.

Michel wins a camper van on The Price Is Right but soon sells it. Kirk decides to move out of his mother’s place to spend more time with Lulu but forgets to find somewhere to move to so ends up finding various places to stay. When Old Man Twickham dies, his house is initially set up as a town museum before being sold. Kirk and Luke compete to buy it but the town elders decide Luke wants it more after he describes it as his dream house. The season picks up at the exact point the previous season ended, with Lorelai embarking on a relationship with Luke and Rory beginning an affair with married Dean.

There was speculation during the seventh season that it would be the show’s final year, as Graham and Bledel’s contracts were both coming to an end. As negotiations continued between the actresses and the network, Rosenthal planned a finale that « could serve as an ending or a beginning of a new chapter and a new season ». Graham later said that by the end of the filming schedule « there was a 50/50 chance we’d be returning », and she requested that the finale provide « an opportunity to say goodbye » to the characters, in case of cancellation. Due to the uncertainty, the cast and crew did not have a final wrap party or an opportunity to say farewells. As signaled by its tagline « Life’s short. Talk fast », Gilmore Girls is known for its fast-paced dialogue and « witty repartee ».
